Dr. Melanie Ohm is a facilitator and an educator, using the arts, dialogue, and creative processes in community for learning and decision-making. Her work has evolved from a background in business, the social sector, university leadership in cultivating community-based partnerships, and as a performing artist. Melanie provides facilitation, workshops, professional development, and coaching through her business Concepts Consulting Group, Inc.; teaches music humanities and singer’s diction courses at Chandler Gilbert Community College as an adjunct; and as a cofounder, serves as director of the Cultural Arts Coalition: Celebrating Global Connections. Her collaborative work includes Thoughtful Warrior first implemented for 8 years with incarcerated youth; Maestra!Maestro! teaching artist intern program; Opening Minds-Igniting Purpose international youth development; Human rights and global sustainability education initiatives; ArtVentures in Engineering interdisciplinary programming; and Duo Braziliana performing Brazilian art song with pianist Rúbia Santos among other creative work. Melanie holds a doctorate in music and performance from Arizona State University.
